Fox personality Greg Gutfeld of ‘The Five’ returning to The Villages

Greg Gutfeld was in The Villages in April 2014 to sign copies of his book titled ‘Not Cool: The Hipster Elite and Their War on You.’

Fox News personality Greg Gutfeld will be in The Villages on Saturday.

The 53-year-old host of “The Greg Gutfeld Show” and co-host of “The Five” is scheduled to be at Barnes & Noble in Lake Sumter Landing on Saturday at 2 p.m. to sign copies of his new book titled “The Gutfeld Monologues: Classic Rants From The Five.”

Gutfeld, who is a New York Times best-selling author, has covered just about everything imaginable, from the history-making 2016 presidential election to unhinged celebrities to crazed academics. He said he often gets asked about his adventures in the media business by fans who want to read his monologues. So, he decided to make it easy for them to “find these little nuggets of knowledge” about everything from politics to pop culture in his latest book.

Greg Gutfeld and his guests often parody current events and discuss the weeks’ biggest stories on ‘The Greg Gutfeld Show,’ which airs Saturdays at 10 p.m. on Fox News.

Gutfeld, who says he became a libertarian by being around liberals at the University of California, Berkeley, co-hosts “The Five” with Juan Williams, Dana Perino and Jesse Walters. The show’s fifth co-host, Kimberly Guilfoyle, left the network last month and is joining her boyfriend, Donald Trump Jr., on the campaign trail for the 2018 midterm elections.

“The Five,” which airs weekdays at 5 p.m., covers the hottest topics of the day with voices and different viewpoints. It’s not uncommon for Gutfeld and his fellow co-hosts to challenge, debate or even debunk news stories and issues of the day.

Not surprisingly, Gutfeld is no stranger to The Villages, having been here in April 2014 to sign copies of “Not Cool: The Hipster Elite and Their War on You” a month after it was released.

During that event, he enjoyed spending a few minutes with Villagers Don and Leslie Kaiser, who had given him a ride in their Chevy Bel Air-themed golf cart during a prior visit to The Villages.

Barnes & Nobles’ celebrity lineup of Fox news personalities include: top row, from left: Greg Gutfeld, Steve Doocy and Tucker Carlson. Bottom row, from left: Bret Baier, Brian Kilmeade and frequent Fox guest Sean Spicer, who served as President Trump’s press secretary for six months.

Gutfeld also isn’t alone at Fox News when it comes to visiting Florida’s Friendliest Hometown. “Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy and his wife, Kathy, will be at Barnes & Noble on Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. to sign copies of their new book titled, “The Happy Cookbook: A Celebration of the Food That Makes America Smile.” Doocy also was is The Villages in September 2011 when his show was broadcast live from Lake Sumter Landing.

The following day, Fox News political commentator Tucker Carlson will be at Barnes & Noble at 2 p.m. to sign copies of his newest book titled “Ship of Fools: How a Selfish Ruling Class Is Bringing America to the Brink of Revolution.” The host of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” who gained a certain level of fame from appearing on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2006, also visited The Villages in April 2010 to appear on fellow Fox commentator Sean Hannity’s show, which originated from Lake Sumter Landing.

Bret Baier speaks to a crowd at Barnes & Noble during a recent book signing event.

In May, Fox anchor Bret Baier, whose aunt, Kathy Scarito, lives in the Village of Sunset Pointe, drew quite a crowd when he signed copies of his latest work titled “Three Days in Moscow: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of the Soviet Empire.” The host of “Special Report with Bret Baier” and chief political anchor for the Fox News Channel said it was great to speak with so many people who enjoy his work and he recalled a similar book signing In January 2017 that was coupled with him broadcasting his television show live from Lake Sumter Landing behind Cody’s Original Roadhouse.

Doocy’s longtime “Fox & Friends” co-host, Brian Kilmeade, also is quite familiar with The Villages, having been here four times. He signed copies of his book “Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans: The Battle That Shaped America’s Destiny” in December 2017. In December 2015 he was at Barnes & Noble to sign copies of his book “Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates: The Forgotten War that Changed American History” and back again in November 2016 when the popular book was released in paperback form. And in December 2013 he signed copies of his book “George Washington’s Secret Six: The Spy Ring That Saved the American Revolution.”

Brian Kilmeade signs a book in 2014 for Leo Bouchard.

Kilmeade also visited Florida’s Friendliest Hometown in September 2011 when “Fox & Friends” broadcast live from Lake Sumter Landing’s Market Square. During that visit, he stayed at the Waterfront Inn and enjoyed a stroll and personalized golf cart ride around Market Square the night before the show.

While he’s not a Fox News personality, former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer – he gave Hannity his first interview after announcing his resignation last month and regularly appeared on his show during his tenure in the Trump administration – enjoyed a successful book-signing event at Barnes & Noble earlier this month. The 46-year-old, who also serves in the Navy Reserve and called his six-month stint with Trump “chaotic, energetic and exciting,” met plenty of passionate fans while signing copies of his book titled “The Briefing: Politics, the Press, and the President.”

Spicer also was quite complimentary of The Villages, calling it “a place that people want to be because there’s a lot going on – a lot of activity, a lot of engagement and a lot interest in what’s happening in the country.”
