A Summerfield man was arrested early Wednesday morning after he was spotted driving near Southern Trace Plaza in The Villages.
Richard Joshua Douglas, 35, had been at the wheel of a Chevy passenger van when a check of the license plate revealed that the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended license, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
During a traffic stop it was determined that Douglas’ driver’s license had been suspended earlier this month for being delinquent with support. The deputy also found that Douglas had previously been arrested for driving while license suspended in 2002 and 2008.
He was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was released after posting $1,000 bond.
