A man was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly attempting to walk out of Bealls in a pair of stolen shoes.
Zikee Dejuan Fowler, 26, of Ocala, entered the store on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Lady Lake at about 10 a.m., selected a pair of men’s shoes, put them on his feet, put his old shoes into the shoebox and attempted to leave the store, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
He was stopped by the store’s loss prevention officer and later taken into custody by law enforcement. Fowler was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $500.
