A Marion County school bus was involved in a minor crash with a garbage truck Thursday afternoon.
There were 39 students onboard the bus at the time of the incident but no one was injured, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.
The 2:47 p.m. accident occurred when 54-year-old Robyn Kauffman attempted to maneuver her school bus around a parked garbage truck on SW 84th Avenue Rd. She failed to leave enough room and hit the truck while its operators were loading up trash, the FHP report says.
The truck, driven by 44-year-old Steven Gonzalez, of Ocala, received minor damage to the driver’s side mirror. The school bus wasn’t damaged.
Kauffman, of Longwood, was placed at fault for the accident and cited for careless driving, the report says.
