An Ocklawaha man was arrested four days after a bloodied woman called Marion County sheriff’s deputies for help.
When deputies arrived at the home SE 190th Court on Sept. 2, a woman told them that she had been arguing with 41-year-old Richard Moseley for several hours. She said he grabbed her and broke her key chain necklace before she told him “he needed to leave.”
The woman said the altercation escalated when Moseley attempted to go into a young girl’s bedroom in the house and she asked him not to take her with him. The woman said Moseley grabbed her by the neck and pushed her away twice before punching her in the face and leaving with the girl, the report says.
Deputies noted that the woman had a small laceration next to her nose that continuously bled throughout the investigation, as well as a swollen and cut lower lip. She also had red marks around her neck and chest area, the report says.
A witness who lives in the house confirmed the woman’s story and told deputies that Moseley “can be very aggressive and normally gets physical” with the woman. A second witness who also lives in the house said he heard but didn’t witness the altercation. But he added that he eventually walked out of his bedroom and saw the woman lying on the ground, bleeding from the face.
Moseley was arrested at the house on SE 190th Court early Thursday morning, booked into the Marion County Jail at 2:39 a.m. and charged with battery. He was being held on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear before a Marion County judge on Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. to answer to the charge.
