Bruce Thurlow Vealey, 86, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on September 21, 2018.

He was born and raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan; the son of Thurlow and Anna Vealey. After high school, Bruce pursued a trade in tool and die making with Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, and later worked as a supervisor with General Motors at the Willow Run Division in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Bruce joined the Michigan Air National Guard and served at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, Arizona, and at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois, where he met his loving wife, Lois Mae. They married on July 12, 1952.

In 1969, Bruce relocated his family to Ocala, Florida. He and his wife have owned and operated Pine Manor Mobile Park and Sales for 49 years with the help of their children.

Bruce enjoyed sponsoring a softball team, traveling, fishing, playing the piano/organ, playing his favorite pinochle card games, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and The American Legion.

Bruce will be dearly remembered and missed by his surviving wife of 66 years; his four children, Sheila Ann Varnadore (Robert ‘Wade’), David Bruce Vealey (Theresa), Marla Lynn Eyles (David) and Rhonda Gail McNeal (Raymond); his seven grandchildren, Robert Mount, Amy Curtis (Carlton), Jason Varnadore, Tyler Vealey (Rose Jo), Austin Vealey (Holly), Katlyn McNeal and Breanna McNeal; his step-granddaughter, Seay Stanford (Neil); his three great grandchildren; and his five step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, Truesdell Vealey; and sister, Delvya Sangster.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 3453 N.E. Silver Springs Boulevard, Ocala, Florida.
