Carol Ann Stark

Carol Ann Stark

Carol Stark, 75, of Ocala, Florida, passed away September 28, 2018. Born September 24, 1943, in New Rochelle, NY, as the youngest daughter of Thomas and Mary Fagan. Eventually she married and moved to Hauppauge, NY, where she lived until 1994, raising 5 sons along the way.

Carol was very active in church groups, both in New York and in Florida before getting ill. She was a Third Order Carmelite and was currently an active parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary parish in Candler, FL, and previously Blessed Trinity parish in Ocala, FL. She taught Sunday school at First United Methodist Church of Ocala and worked as a Nurse’s Aide and EKG Technician.

Carol enjoyed the simpler things in life. She would often say that chocolate and laughter were the best medicines, and she frequently enjoyed taking “3 cc’s” of her favorite “medicine,” Hershey’s Kisses. She was very personable and truly enjoyed talking to people. Often times she unwittingly provided comic relief to her sons and was always quick to laugh at herself. While Carol grew up a New York Giants (baseball) fan, she enjoyed watching and attending Tampa Bay Rays games and traveling to other baseball stadiums with her sons. She was an avid sewer and enjoyed crafting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Fagan, her husband Thomas Stark Sr., her sisters Mary Gates, Helen “Honey” Wangenstein, Joan Hand, and brother Thomas Fagan.

She is survived by her 5 sons George (Stephanie), Bryan (Lisa), Thomas Jr “TJ”, Robert, and Christopher, her 4 grandchildren Emily, Bethanie, James, and Tyler, one great-granddaughter Mia, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, Catholic Charities or another worthwhile cause of your choosing.
