Catherine Irene Rodriguez, 89, passed away gracefully on October 21, 2018 at the Marion County Hospice Legacy home in Ocala, FL. She was born in Ashville, NC and grew up on Long Island, NY. It is there she began her life’s journey of establishing a family of her own.
She is predeceased by her devoted husband of 64 years, Frank W. Rodriguez; and loving son, Bruce L. Rodriguez; brother, Billy Long; and sister-in-law, Sally Rodriguez.
Upon retirement, Catherine relocated to Ocala with her husband and daughter and settled down to enjoy her final 30 years of life.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Frank and Daisy Rodriguez, Brooklyn, NY, David and Kathy Rodriguez, Roosevelt, NY; and daughter, Nancy A. Rodriguez, Ocala. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Frank D. Rodriguez, David E. Rodriguez and his wife, Ana, Kaity I. Rodriguez, Acacia C. Rodriguez, Bruce L. Rodriguez, Jr. and his three children; and sister-in-law, Sharon Long. Catherine is also survived by her known great grandchildren, David, Lucas, Chloe, Brianna, Danna and Andreas, and Lauren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving close friends of the family that will miss her dearly as she was a caring individual involved in her volunteerism with community and church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Jude Catholic Community, 443 Marion Oaks Drive, Ocala with burial to follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, Ocala. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm at Roberts Funeral Home, Bruce West Chapel, 6241 SW SR 200, Ocala.
