Bill Brown

Bill Brown, 87, of Ocala, passed away peacefully Monday, November 19, 2018 at Ocala Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Toledo, Ohio to William Mathias Brown, Sr. and Vera Sattler Brown. He was the fourth of five children.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Marie Brown of 28 years. He is also survived by his six children from his first marriage to Carol A. Rowe, Lori Battaglia (Rick), Diane Molina (Manny), Susan Harris (Randy), Wendy Dixon (Tom), Jamie Segal (Tina), Mike Brown (Penny); step-son, Richard Jolley (Karen); fourteen grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; and twenty-two great grandchildren (with two more expected to arrive in 2019).

Bill is a Veteran of the United States Navy having served on the U.S.S. Clarence K. Bronson DD-668 during the Korean War. In his four years of service, he earned a Bronze Star (Korean Service Ribbon) among many other medals. He was licensed as a Residential Building Contractor and Mechanical Contractor, owned and operated Allied Builders and Allied Industrial Service, Inc. in Marion County, Florida. Bill was a Licensed Private Pilot who loved flying his airplanes and riding his 1976 Honda motorcycle. He was a family man that enjoyed spending time with those he loved. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

A celebration of his life will be held 11am, Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Roberts Funeral Home-Bruce Chapel East, 2739 Southeast Maricamp Road, Ocala, Florida 34471 followed by a Military Honors Ceremony scheduled for 2:30pm, at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 Southwest 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a contribution be made in Bill’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
