La Hacienda is one of the many Mexican restaurants that fill the landscape of Ocala that offer authentic eats at affordable prices.
The restaurant, which is attached to a supermarket that sells speciality Hispanic foods in addition to general produce and ethnic products, is the favorite of many a local looking for a bevy of deliciously seasoned, authentic Mexican dishes. Like most Mexican restaurants, chips and salsa come with your seat. At La Hacienda, however, those chips are cut by hand and fried up fresh.
From the guacamole, which is made fresh daily, to the sopes, menudo, chile rellenos, and carne asada, the list of authentic Mexican dishes is extensive.
In addition to the authentic foods, the restaurant offers a collection of authentic Mexican drinks like Jarrillos and aguas frescas, including horchata.
What makes the dishes even better is that they are affordably priced, with tacos under $2, and burritos under $7, dishes you might find for twice the price at other local spots.
Every day of the week, the restaurant boasts a different special, including burrito deals every Monday, 99 cent tacos on Tuesday, and fajitas on Wednesday.
The restaurant and supermarket are open 7 days a week for breakfast starting at 8 a.m. Dining hours for the restaurant end at 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and at 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, while the Supermarket remains open until 9 p.m Sunday through Thursday and closes at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
It’s easy to miss La Hacienda (4185 West Highway 40) while driving as it is inconspicuously hidden in a strip mall alongside Senor Bubbles, but if you do notice it, stop in and let us know what you think!
