A Waldo woman was arrested Tuesday night during an undercover operation in Ocala targeting prostitution.

Mariah E. Wilkerson, of Waldo, was arrested Tuesday on prostitution and drug charges by an undercover agent with the Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team. She had agreed to meet the agent at the Country Inn & Suites at 3720 SW College Rd. in Ocala.

An undercover agent with the Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team (UDEST) had made contact with 25-year-old Mariah E. Wilkerson via text messaging and they had agreed to meet at the Country Inn & Suites at 3720 SW College Rd. Wilkerson said $120 in U.S. currency had been discussed during the messaging, the UDEST report says.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Wilkerson made the statement, “Whatever happens, happens.” She then told the undercover agent that she brought condoms and he told her he had his own. Wilkerson then said, “I don’t like the taste of latex,” the report says.

The agent and Wilkerson then discussed her limitations, which included “no kissing.” She was then taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was found to be in possession of a straw and a clear plastic baggie containing a white powder residue, the report says.

Wilkerson, who lives at 11410 E County Road 25 in Waldo, was charged with prostitution and possession of drug equipment and was being held on $2,000 bond. Her next court date hasn’t yet been set.

UDEST is an initiative of the North Florida High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area. It is comprised of local, state and federal law enforcement from the Ocala Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Drug Enforcement Administration and Department of Homeland Security.
