A motorcyclist was killed early Thursday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 75.
Don Nicholas Kemp, 26, of Homosassa, was traveling northbound on I-75 at Mile Marker 351 – one mile north of State Road 200 – when his 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with the rear portion of a 1994 Dodge Ram 500 pickup truck driven by 70-year-old Jose Ramon Diaz Rivera, of Ocala, a Florida Highway Patrol report says.
Kemp fell from his motorcycle and was struck by a 2008 Toyota Highlander driven by 68-year-old Allan Granda, of Valrico. Kemp then became lodged under the Highlander as it swerved to the left. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Marion County Fire Rescue, the report says.
Granda received minor injuries and Rivera wasn’t hurt in the crash, which remains under investigation.
