19 residents of Ocala long-term care facility test positive for COVID-19

Forty-nine cases of the Coronavirus have been identified in long-term care facilities in the tri-county area – with more than a third of the victims living at a facility in Ocala.

Nineteen residents at Change of Pace Retirement Center in Ocala have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, according to a report released Friday by the Florida Department of Health.

Change of Pace Retirement Center, at 1715 E Silver Springs Blvd., is home to 19 residents who have tested positive for the Coronavirus. The information was released Friday on a daily report detailing COVID-19 cases in residents and employees of long-term care facilities across the Sunshine State.
Four other Marion County facilities also reported Coronavirus cases. Those include:

  • Hampton ALF at Belleview LLC (two residents, one of whom transferred out);
  • Life Care Center of Ocala (five residents who transferred out);
  • Pacifica Senior Living Ocala (one employee);
  • Palm Garden of Ocala (Four residents, one of whom transferred out, and seven employees).

Three Sumter County facilities also reported COVID-19 cases. Those are:

  • Buffalo Crossings Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in The Villages (one resident who transferred out of the facility and three employees);
  • Serenades in The Villages (one employee);
  • Osprey Point Nursing Center in Bushnell (two residents, one of whom transferred out of the facility).

The Lake County long-term care facilities with COVID-19 cases include:

  • AdventHealth Care Waterman in Tavares (one employee);
  • Lake Eustis Health and Rehabilitation Center (one employee);
  • Superior Residences of Clermont (one employee); and
  • The Cove at Tavares Village (one resident who transferred out).
