Farm Share food giveaway to help feed Fort McCoy community

Hundreds of Marion County families will benefit from an upcoming Farm Share fresh food giveaway in Fort McCoy.

Thanks to a partnership between the Public Education Foundation of Marion County, T-Mobile and Farm Share, drive-thru distribution will be the method for handing out a truckload of farm-fresh produce and other food products, along with summer fun packs for children.

On Wednesday, June 17, families are welcome to come to Fort McCoy School, located at 16160 NE County Road 315 in Fort McCoy, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All food will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The distribution will be able to serve up to 500 families.
Community volunteers, including foundation board members, will place food items into vehicles to maintain safe social distancing.

Farm Share is a nonprofit organization based in Jacksonville that was founded to distribute fresh food free of charge to families, children, seniors and people in need throughout Florida. It delivers more than 88 million pounds of healthy and nutritious food each year.
