Belleview woman accused of charging into man during spat

Brietta Lynn Parlapiano

A Belleview woman was arrested after she allegedly charged into a man and pushed him onto a bed during a domestic dispute on Sunday morning.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that 27-year-old Brietta Lynn Parlapiano became upset and ran at him, striking her shoulder against his chest. The deputy did not observe any visible injuries on the victim, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said Parlapiano then blocked the doorway to continue the verbal argument while trying to take his phone from him. The victim provided a sworn written statement, the report said.

After being read her Miranda warning, Parlapiano denied pushing the victim onto the bed and said he tripped over something on the floor. She said she did block the door while trying to retrieve her phone from the him, according to the report.

Parlapiano was charged with simple domestic battery and taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released Tuesday on her own recognizance. She’s due to appear in Marion County Court on Feb. 19.
