Ocala FPRA chapter issues call for entries in Mid-Florida Local Image Awards competition

The Ocala Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association has released its call for entries for the Mid-Florida Local Image Awards competition.

The Ocala Chapter has sponsored the Mid-Florida Local Image Awards since 2011 to recognize the strategic work of local public relations practitioners. In recent years, the competition has expanded and includes Citrus, Flagler, Lake and Volusia counties. Winners at the regional competition often compete in the state Golden Image Awards competition in May.

Public relations and communications professionals are encouraged to submit projects that have taken place between Jan. 1, 2020, and Feb. 28, 2021.

To qualify for judging, entries must incorporate sound public relations research, planning, implementation and evaluation and demonstrate the best examples of innovation and design.

The deadline to submit an entry is 11:59 p.m. Feb. 28. Entry fees vary depending on the number entries and whether the participant is an FPRA member.

Entries must be submitted electronically at FPRAImage.org/Ocala.

The FPRA Ocala Chapter will host an in-person Image celebration Thursday, April 15, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Brick City Center for the Arts (23 SW Broadway St., Ocala). Attendees will follow COVID-19 protocols, including wearing masks and practicing social distancing.

FPRA is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners, who enhance the public relations profession in Florida through ethical and standardized practices. FPRA comprises 15 professional and 12 student chapters throughout the state, providing professional development, networking and professional recognition opportunities.

The FPRA Ocala Chapter was established in 1980. Members and guests typically meet the third Friday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the College of Central Florida. During the pandemic, the chapter has been mostly meeting virtually.
