An Ocala man was arrested after he allegedly battered one woman and threatened another during a drunken rage.

Michael Christopher Luckhardt, 33, was charged recently with simple assault/threat to do violence and simple battery.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to the incident location and found one of the victims sitting on the staircase outside the residence. She was crying and visibly distraught. The victim said Luckhardt got drunk and started destroying the apartment, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said Luckhardt was yelling at her and he “motioned to hit” her. Asked to clarify, she said Luckhardt leaned in close to her like he was going to do something to her. The victim said she was afraid he was going to do something to her but didn’t know what he was going to do. She was crying uncontrollably, the report said.

The deputy went inside the residence and spoke with the second victim, who said Luckhardt got drunk and started acting erratically in ways she had never seen him act. The second victim was also distraught and crying uncontrollably, according to the report.

The second victim said she saw Luckhardt punching the door to the first victim’s room, trying to get to her. She said she saw the door open and Luckhardt lunge at the first victim. The second victim said she jumped between the two to separate them, the report said.

The deputy observed a large hole in the drywall next to the first victim’s bedroom door, as well as a hole in the door itself. The second victim said she was afraid Luckhardt was going to hurt the second victim, but she didn’t know what he was going to do, according to the report.

As the deputy continued to interview the second victim, she said Luckhardt battered her. She said he threw a liquor bottle on the ground and tried to wrestle her to the ground. The second victim said Luckhardt grabbed her and pulled her down. She showed the deputy her elbow because it hurt and the deputy observed a small round abrasion. The second victim said the injury was caused by Luckhardt pulling her to the ground, the report said.

After being read his Miranda warning, Luckhardt became upset and without being told the allegations against him, he said the cut on his knee was from slipping on the bottle that he broke and that he didn’t put his hands on anyone. Luckhardt then invoked his right to remain silent, according to the report.

Luckhardt was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released on $1,000 bond.
