In the midst of additional days and the opening of the Ocala Food Truck Park earlier this year, the Ocala Downtown Market has seen a recent boom in both vendors and visitors.
The market, which is located at the corner of SE 3rd Street and SE 3rd Avenue, now features so many vendors that it has spilled out onto the streets. Held on Saturdays, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., the offering has grown to dozens of vendors selling a wide array of items.
In addition to the farmer’s market mainstays like fresh produce, art and furniture, visitors can expect to find a variety of specialized items for sale, including handmade pens, customized keychains, and wine glasses, to name a few.
There are also vendors that sell pet supplies and treats, fresh flowers, handmade jewelry, flavored olive oils, beauty products and candles.
The success of the market has been in no small part on account of the opening of the Ocala Food Truck Park earlier this year.
The park, which features a variety of local food truck vendors, is open Tuesday through Saturday starting at 11 a.m., and has garnered a steady flow of visitors since its grand opening in January.
