The United Way and Covid Assistance Program (CAP) team are hosting an event on June 17 to help people with rent and utilities who were negatively affected by COVID-19.
The CAP team will provide assistance and help neighbors register and fill out applications to receive rent and utilities assistance at the event.
Applicants will be considered on a first come, first-served basis. Walk-ins are welcomed and funds are required to be distributed by December 30, 2021. Assistance is available for financial obligations incurred after March 2020, according to a United Way Facebook post.
CAP qualifications include:
- Marion County resident.
- Valid form of ID
- Applied online at UWMC CAP
- At or below 80% of the average median income
- Experienced hardship due to COVID-19
The event will be held at the Community Center located at 505 NW MLK Avenue in Ocala from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
