DOH-Marion announces COVID-19 vaccination dates & locations

The Florida Department of Health in Marion County will be holding additional COVID-19 vaccination opportunities in the weeks ahead. Newly scheduled vaccination opportunities include:

Thursdays, from June 17–July 15:

  • From 9:30–11:30 a.m. at Hog Valley Civic Center (23125 NE 160th Ave. Road, Ft. McCoy)
  • From 1:30–3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ft. McCoy (11350 E. Highway 316, Ft. McCoy)

Fridays, from June 18–July 16:

  • From 9:30–11:30 a.m. at Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church (674 Silver Road, Ocala)
  • From 1:30–3:30 p.m. at Starting Point Church (1990 SE Highway 42, Summerfield)

The Florida Department of Health in Marion County will also be providing COVID-19 vaccinations throughout June at its main office in Ocala (located at 1801 SE 32nd Ave.)

Vaccinations will be on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3 to 6 p.m.

Starting in July, COVID-19 vaccinations at the health department’s Ocala office will be by appointment only.

Both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines are available to residents through the Department of Health in Marion County.

Anyone age 12 years old or older can receive a Pfizer vaccine. Anyone age 18 years old or older can receive a Johnson & Johnson vaccine. A parent or guardian must accompany individuals younger than 18 years old who will be receiving a vaccination.

As of the most recent state report, a total of 158,521 Marion residents age 12 years old or older have received a COVID-19 vaccination. This equals 48% of the eligible population and includes vaccinations by the Department of Health, hospitals, pharmacies, long-term care facilities and more, according to Florida Health of Marion County.
