A new senior walking club is taking residents on tours of parks across the city of Ocala.
The city of Ocala is inviting adults over the age of 50 to join the Senior Walking Club that meets on the first Tuesday of each month at a different park. The group meets up at 8 a.m. each month for general exercise and mingling.
This year’s schedule includes a tour of parks all throughout Ocala, including the recently opened Ocala Wetland Recharge Park, which won a national award earlier this year.
The group will visit the following parks through December:
July – Jervey Gantt
August – M.O.M. S.
September – Fort King National Historic Landmark,
October – MLK Memorial Park
November – Lillian Bryant
December – Ocala Wetland Recharge Park
The cost is $10 per person to participate. The last day for registration is November 2 and participants can register online at the City of Ocala’s Senior Walking Club webpage.
