The new Storming Crab restaurant in Ocala offers a wide array of seafood prepared in a variety of ways.
The restaurant, which is located at 3500 SW College Road #100, opened the doors on its new business earlier this month and has seen a steady flow of customers in search of crawfish and crabs, among a large collection of other seafood favorites.
In addition to four types of crab (blue crab, Dungeness crab, snow crab, and king crab) the restaurant features shrimp, white clams, green mussels, lobster tails, and scallops.
All seafoods are offered with a choice of seasoning, including Old Bay and “Crab House Cajun,” and a choice of spice level.
The restaurant offers a variety of fried and steamed/baked combinations, as well as a “create your own” option that allows patrons to create specific orders in half-pound increments.
According to its website, Storming Crab currently has 18 locations open across the United States, and another five that are currently under construction. The Storm Crab in Ocala is the franchise’s flagship restaurant in Florida.
Storming Crab took over the location from Ruby Tuesday’s, which closed last year as part of a collection of nationwide corporate closures and bankruptcies caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Storming Crab joins a growing list of seafood restaurants that have opened recently in Ocala.
Red Crab Juicy Seafood opened its Ocala location in 2019 at the former Crisper’s location at 2604 SW 19th Avenue Road. The company currently operates 11 locations around the state of Florida.
In 2020, Shuckin’ Shack opened the doors on their location at Market Street at Heath Brook in southwest Ocala.
