A 57-year-old Ocala woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident after her vehicle veered off the road on County Road 314 on Friday morning.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a female driver, whose identity is being withheld according to FHP policy, was killed around 8:50 a.m. on Friday, September 10th, after her vehicle veered off the road near the intersection of CR 314 and NE 120th Street in Marion County.
The report indicates the woman was driving an SUV eastbound on CR 314 and veered onto the South grass shoulder. The SUV collided with the mailbox and a road sign, before traveling into a water-filled ditch and catching fire.
The woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the report.
