Woman killed in single-vehicle accident in southeast Ocala

A 33-year-old woman was killed in a single vehicle accident in southeast Ocala this morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, earlier this morning around 9:45 a.m., a 33-year-old Gainesville woman was driving south in a sport utility vehicle on SE 44th Avenue Road near SE 46th Street.

While driving at a high speed, she attempted to navigate a curve to the right. Her vehicle drifted into the northbound lane.

Continuing to drive left, her vehicle traveled off the road and onto the grass shoulder where it struck a wire fence.

Her vehicle went through the wire fence and collided with a large tree, causing the vehicle to burst into flames.

She was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased on the scene.

According to an FHP report, her family has not yet been notified and her name was not provided in the report.
