Williston man allegedly shoves pregnant woman, sprays Axe body spray in eyes

A 38-year-old Williston man was arrested after allegedly shoving a pregnant woman and spraying a body fragrance in her eyes.

On Sunday, October 24 around 10:30 p.m., a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a Marion County residence in reference to an attack on a pregnant victim.

The victim advised that she was standing with Wendall Lee Chastain near a grill outside of the residence. Chastain allegedly had the victim’s truck keys and she wanted them back.

According to the victim, Chastain refused to give the keys back. After a back-and-forth struggle to grab the keys, Chastain allegedly shoved her in the shoulder.

They both went inside the residence, and the victim stated that Chastain grabbed a can of Axe body spray and sprayed it into her face. Her eyes began to sting and she had trouble breathing.

She grabbed a can of mace and sprayed Chastain in the eyes. He left the residence and laid down on the front yard, which is where the arriving deputy found him.

Chastain denied pushing the victim and stated he was the one that called law enforcement.

After washing out his eyes, Chastain was placed under arrest and transported to Marion County Jail. He faces several felony charges including aggravated battery of a pregnant victim.

He is currently being held without bond and no court date has been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
