According to the MCSO report, the deputy observed discoloration and swelling around the victim’s right eye, and fingernail marks were visible around her mouth.

The victim stated that at around 10 a.m., she was cooking inside her residence when Raffield allegedly sat down in the kitchen so they could talk.

The victim stated she was busy cooking and could not talk. Raffield became upset and an argument ensued.

Raffield allegedly grabbed the victim around the mouth which caused the fingernail marks. The victim stated that Raffield also headbutted her in the mouth and punched her in the right eye.

The victim drove herself to the hospital, and Raffield rode with her after demanding to do so. Upon arriving at the hospital, Raffield allegedly fled on foot after the victim refused to lie about how she sustained the injuries.

The nurse informed the deputy that the victim sustained orbital and nasal fractures. The victim was transferred to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville to receive facial surgery.

Raffield was located at her residence. She claimed that the victim pinched herself around the mouth, and she mentioned that she accidentally poked the victim in the eye.

She was unsure of how the victim sustained the facial fractures.

Raffield was arrested, transported to Marion County Jail, and later released on $2,000 bond. She is facing a felony charge for domestic battery.

A court date has been scheduled on December 28 at 9 a.m., according to jail records.
