The Florida Department of Corrections will be looking to hire additional correctional officers during an upcoming career fair in Ocala.

The hiring event is being held on Wednesday, February 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marion Correctional Institution training building located at 3269 NW 105th Street.

The FDC provides paid-training, and each newly hired correctional officer receives a starting yearly salary of $38,750, benefits, retirement options, and a $4,000 sign-on bonus.

Event attendees will need to bring the following:

  • Valid ID and social security card.
  • Proof of citizenship (i.e. birth certificate, passport, or naturalization certificate).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • All legal name change documents.
  • DD 214 or active military ID.
  • All court documents available for any criminal charges.

Same-day job offers will be made for qualified applicants.
