The Marion County Parks and Recreation department’s popular ‘Kayak and Koffee’ event is heading to a new area of Central Florida this weekend.
On Saturday, February 12, event participants will meet at Brick City Adventure Park (1211 SE 22nd Road in Ocala) at 7:45 a.m.
The kayakers will then enjoy a scenic ride down Central Florida’s scenic waterways to King’s Landing in Apopka, and light refreshments will be served after the outing.
The event is open to anyone ages 15 and up and beginners are welcome. There is a $50 fee per participant and all kayaks and gear are provided.
A discounted registration price of $25 is also available for anyone who can provide their own kayak equipment.
Everyone is encouraged to bring bug spray, sunscreen, and a bottle of water, and weather-appropriate clothing and a hat are also recommended.
