A 78-year-old Williston man was struck and killed by a sedan on County Road 318 in Marion County on Monday evening.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report, at around 7 p.m., a 28-year-old Trenton woman was traveling westbound in a sedan on County Road 318 near NW 142nd Court Road.
The 78-year-old man was walking southbound across County Road 318 near the crest of a hill when he was struck by the front of the sedan. After the collision, the vehicle came to a stop on the westbound shoulder.
The pedestrian was transported by Emergency Medical Services to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was not injured.
The names of the driver and pedestrian were not released, per FHP policy.
