Precautionary boil water notice issued for two communities

Marion County Utilities has issued a precautionary boil water notice for 216 customers in the Pine Ridge and The Hunters Trace communities.

The notice is due to a temporary loss of power to the water treatment facility. Residents are being notified via emails, interactive community notification calls, media releases, and social media.

Marion County Utilities advises that all water used for brushing teeth, cooking, drinking, making ice, or washing dishes must be brought to a rapid boil for at least one minute before use. As an alternative, residents may opt to use bottled water.

Water that is used for laundry, bathing, and showering does not need to be boiled.

This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey is performed and shows that the water is safe to drink. Marion County Utilities will test the water and notify customers by door tag, emails, interactive community notification calls, media release, and social media when the precautionary boil water notice is lifted.

Customers with questions should contact the Marion County Utilities customer service line at 352-307-6000.
