Irene M. Aviles, 76, of Ocala, passed peacefully on April 29th, 2022, at Hospice of Marion County’s Cates House. On November 20th, 1945, she was born in Providence, Rhode Island, to Mary (Almeida) and William Demaris and was the first of three children. She was a George Washington High School graduate in New York, NY, and Munroe Business School in the Bronx, NY. She had a career in accounting and bookkeeping for over 40 years. Her last position was with Dr. Croley’s Central Florida Eye Institute in Ocala, Florida, where she financially guided patients through their care. Her priority was raising her children, and she dedicated herself to family.

She loved her family and friends and enjoyed having gatherings bringing everyone together for times of joy, laughter, and good food. She was a self-taught cook, having mastered all types of cuisine like Puerto Rican and Italian. She was a music lover, with Elvis Presley being her all-time favorite. One of her greatest pleasures was visiting Disney World and just watching children’s excitement as they experienced the joys of seeing cartoon characters come to life. Before her severe illness, she was an active member of Marion Oaks Assembly, acting as a leader of the girls’ youth group and serving on the church worship team.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Jose A. Aviles, and her four children, Anthony Fontanet, Pablo P. Martinez, Venus P. Martinez, and Amy M. Martinez; her six grandchildren, Clareissa Destiny Presvot, Antonio Pablo Martinez, Ja’Lissa Marie Presvot, Marissa Irene Presvot, Brayden Gabriel Martinez, Camilia Bri Martinez, and her great-granddaughter, Aviana Mae Martinez.

Burial services are scheduled at Roberts Funeral Home Bruce Chapel West on Friday, May 13th at 10 am, with Pastor Jan McIntyre of Marion Oaks Assembly officiating.
