MCSO looking for two individuals suspected of stealing Samsung smartphone from AT&T store

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man and woman who are suspected of distracting an employee and stealing a smartphone from a local AT&T store.

According to MCSO, on July 25, 2022, the two individuals (pictured below) stopped by the AT&T store located on SW 93rd Court in Ocala. Once inside the store, the female suspect attempted to trade in a phone with no value and began arguing with an employee.

While the employee was distracted, the male suspect allegedly went to a display case and stole a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 smartphone. He then approached the female suspect, whispered to her, and she stopped arguing with the employee. The two suspects then proceeded to leave the store.

MCSO encourages any residents who are purchasing a phone from an individual to contact the service provider to verify that the phone is not stolen.
