More than $770,000 raised by over 2,500 donors during 33-hour Give4Marion event

More than 2,500 individuals donated over $770,000 to local nonprofit organizations during this year’s extended 33-hour Give4Marion fundraising event.

The third installment of the event raised $771,075 for 87 different nonprofit organizations, according to the Give4Marion website.

A total of 2,537 donors made individual donations during the event.

In the ‘Large Budget’ category, the top overall recipient was Interfaith Emergency Services, which received $48,015 from 69 individual donors. Hands of Mercy Everywhere came in second ($44,288 from 150 donors) and Ambleside Ocala received the third-most donations ($40,000 from 71 donors).

A dozen organizations in the ‘Large Budget’ category also managed to eclipse the $10,000 mark, including Grace Christian School, Crossroads Academy, Transitions Life Center & Community, Wear Gloves, Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection, Marion Therapeutic Riding Association, Meadowbrook Academy, Brother’s Keeper, Alachua Conservation Trust, ARC Marion, Hospice of Marion County, and Marion Senior Services.

In the ‘Small Budget’ category, Project Hope of Marion County was the top overall recipient with $83,846 from 136 individual donors. Marion County Literacy Council received the second-most donations ($81,382 from 443 donors) and Sheltering Hands came in third ($23,645 from 106 donors).

There were six additional nonprofits in the ‘Small Budget’ category that received over $10,000 in donations, including The Pearl Project, Marion Cultural Alliance, Voices of Change Animal League (VOCAL), Kut Different, His House for Her, and Boys & Girls Club of Marion County.
