‘Kayak & Koffee’ event to visit hidden spring along Ocklawaha River

The Marion County Parks and Recreation Department’s monthly kayaking program will take paddlers on a trip along the Ocklawaha River to a hidden spring later this week.

The event, which is part of the Kayak & Koffee series, will be held on Friday, October 14. Participants will meet at Brick City Adventure Park (1211 SE 22nd Road in Ocala) at 7:45 a.m., and transportation will then be provided to the event.

After enjoying coffee and light refreshments, the paddlers will enjoy a relaxing ride on the river. The event is open to anyone ages 15 and up, and beginners are welcome.

There is a $50 fee per participant, and all kayaks and gear will be provided. The fee will be lowered to $25 for any participants who bring their own kayak equipment.

Everyone is encouraged to bring bug spray, sunscreen, and a bottle of water. Weather-appropriate clothing and a hat are also recommended.

For more information, or to sign up, visit the Kayak & Koffee event webpage or call 352-671-8560.
