A 41-year-old man from Reddick was killed on Friday afternoon after he was ejected from a utility vehicle during an accident that occurred on a private driveway in Marion County.
On Friday, October 14, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the man was driving a 2010 Kubota utility vehicle, and he was traveling southbound on a private driveway located at 6000 NW Highway 329, according to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report.
The man veered off the roadway and onto the right shoulder, and the utility vehicle proceeded to drive through a curve and collided with a shrub. The FHP report stated that the right side of the vehicle traveled over the shrub, which ejected the man onto the driveway.
After the collision, the vehicle overturned onto its left side and landed on top of the man. When Marion County Fire Rescue personnel arrived on scene at 1:35 p.m., the man was pronounced deceased.
The driver’s name was not released by the Florida Highway Patrol.
