The Marion County Parks and Recreation Department will host a unique and festive kayaking event on the scenic Rainbow River later this week.
The event, which is called “The Nighyak Before Christmas,” will take place on Friday, December 16 at KP Hole Park located at 9435 SW 190th Avenue Road in Dunnellon.
On the day of the event, participants will meet at the boat ramp at 5 p.m. to decorate kayaks with Christmas lights. They will then enjoy a leisurely paddle up the Rainbow River at night.
The event will wrap up with some hot chocolate, milk, and cookies.
Registration is still open and there is a $50 fee to participate. The festive event is open to anyone who is 15 years of age or older.
