Marion County Parks and Rec to host archery workshops in January, registration now open

Registration is now open for the Marion County Parks and Recreation Department’s youth and adult archery workshops, which will be held in January at the Silver Springs Archery Range.

On Saturday, January 21, 2023, the adult archery workshop will kick off at 8 a.m. with a two-hour session. A separate session geared towards younger participants (ages 9 to 17) will then be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In a social media post, the Marion County Parks and Recreation Department stated, “This is such a fun class that is designed to teach the fundamentals of archery through games and friendly competition.”

During the workshop, each participant will learn the finer points of archery through a variety of games and activities. The lessons will cover archery safety, equipment instruction, proper shooting form, and shooting etiquette.

Spots are available for the adult (ages 18 and up) and youth (ages 9 to 17) workshop sessions on January 21, 2023. There is a cost of $20 per person to participate.

For more information, please visit the Marion County Parks and Recreation Department website or call 352-671-8560.

The Silver Springs Archery Range is located at 5227 NE 35th Street in Ocala.
