A two-vehicle crash in Ocala caused a power outage and closed multiple blocks of E Silver Springs Boulevard on Saturday evening.
At approximately 9 p.m., Ocala Fire Rescue units consisting of Engine 5, Rescue 3, Tower 1, Battalion Chief 22, and a Safety Officer were dispatched to the 2000 block of E Silver Springs Boulevard due to reports of a motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, crews observed two vehicles – a white Cadillac SUV and a red Jeep compact SUV – with heavy front-end damage, and both vehicles were blocking the eastbound lanes on E Silver Springs Boulevard.

A power pole was resting on the front bumper of the white SUV, and power lines were laying on the ground.

Firefighters checked on the occupants of both vehicles. The driver and sole occupant of the red Jeep was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.
The white Cadillac’s two occupants were not injured in the crash.
After the accident, E Silver Springs Boulevard was closed between the 1900 and 2100 blocks due to a substantial loss of power in the area.
The Ocala Police Department, Ocala Electric Utility, and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.
