Marion County firefighters quickly sprang into action early Wednesday morning after receiving reports that a fire had ignited inside a mobile home in Anthony.
Shortly after 12:40 a.m., Marion County Fire Rescue north county units were dispatched to a double-wide mobile home located in the 2700 block of NE 86th Lane. Multiple individuals had called 911 to report that the mobile home was on fire with heavy smoke rising from the structure.
According to MCFR, the family inside the mobile home was awakened by smoke detectors, and everyone was able to safely leave the residence.
Within five minutes, firefighting units from Anthony Station #1 were the first to arrive on scene. Crew members reported heavy smoke throughout the mobile home along with a fire located on the “bravo charlie corner,” according to MCFR.
MCFR Heavy Rescue 2 crews began a primary search of the mobile home while Engine 1’s crew members temporarily established command. Engine 19 arrived at the residence and established a water supply to combat the flames.
Battalion Chief 1 assumed command as Engine 1’s crews attacked the flames. Additional MCFR units also arrived at the mobile home to assist with battling the blaze.
The firefighters moved quickly to combat the flames and were able to prevent the fire from spreading throughout the mobile home. MCFR stated in a social media post that many rooms and contents were saved from “certain ruin.”
At 1:13 a.m., the fire was called under control. No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters on scene.
The American Red Cross arrived at the mobile home to assist the family during this difficult time.
The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation.
