The Florida Forest Service is warning Marion County motorists of potential visibility issues from a 75-acre prescribed burn that is planned today at the Baseline Trailhead in Ocala.
Cross Florida Greenway will conduct the prescribed burn today, February 23 in an area located northeast of SE Maricamp Road and SE Baseline Road (SE 58th Avenue).
Since smoke will be visible in the area, motorists are encouraged to use their low-beam headlights if they encounter any dense areas of smoke.
According to the Florida Forest Service, the following trails will be closed tomorrow, February 24: Banyan Trailhead, 64th Trailhead, Pecan Pass Trailhead, Baseline Trailhead, and Teak Access. There will still be access to the parking area and playground at Baseline Trailhead as well as the golf course at 64th Trailhead.
