FDOT updated sw 66th street bridge detour March 9 2023

The SW 66th Street bridge over Interstate 75 in Marion County has fully reopened, with traffic moving in both directions, following the completion of repairs to the overpass.

On February 22, the SW 66th Street bridge was damaged when a tractor-trailer with an over-dimensional load struck the overpass while traveling northbound on I-75 near mile marker 347.

In a press release on Friday, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) stated that it appreciates the public’s patience during the bridge repair project.

FDOT does not anticipate the need for any additional lane closures on the SW 66th Street bridge or I-75 at this time. However, brief lane closures on the bridge may be required for further maintenance within the next couple of weeks.
