Pillow fire leads to evacuation of Walmart

Customers and staff were evacuated from a Walmart in Ocala after someone allegedly set pillows on fire in an aisle.

The incident took place on Saturday, July 22, at the Walmart located at 2600 SW 19th Avenue Road in Ocala.

A collection of pillows was set on fire in one of the aisles, causing staff to evacuate the store and tend to the scene.

Although several pillows were charred as a result of the fire, the flames were contained and extinguished by staff.

Ocala Fire Rescue and Ocala Police Department units responded after the fire was put out, according to officials.

No injuries were reported and the store returned to normal business operations.
