A local grocery store celebrated its grand reopening last week after months of renovations.
On Thursday, August 10, the Publix at Churchill Square (303 SE 17th Street) reopened its doors after a closure that spanned nearly a year and a half.
The store was closed in March 2022 and was renovated from top to the bottom.
As of Wednesday, August 16, the store has not yet reopened its liquor store, which is located next door to its grocery store.
The location in Churchill Square joins several other grocery stores in the area that have undergone renovations or are in the process of making changes to their locations.
In October 2021, the Publix at Pearl Britain Plaza (2647 NE 35th Street) reopened its doors after an extended closure. That Publix was completely renovated inside and out.
Earlier this summer, a Walmart on SR 200 hosted a grand reopening celebration after implementing a series of renovations to its location.
The Publix at Churchill Square joins eight other current locations across the city of Ocala for the popular Florida grocer. The company currently operates over 800 locations in Florida, as well as 1,300 stores across the United States.
Publix at Churchill Square is open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
