Young musicians can win chance to play with Ocala Symphony Orchestra

The Ocala Symphony Orchestra is accepting auditions for its annual Young Artist Competition, which comes with a $2,000 prize and a chance to perform with the orchestra during an upcoming show.

The 33rd Young Artist Competition is currently accepting applications through October 30, 2023. The organization will announce the finalists for the competition on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the Reilly Arts Center (500 NE 9th Street).

The winners of the previous competition, Jay Julio and Isabelle Tseng, performed with OSO this past March.

The competition features a junior division from ages 12 to 18 and a senior division from ages 18 to 25. All auditions must be submitted digitally and are strictly limited to 10 minutes.

Winners will receive $200 and the opportunity to perform as part of a live concert with the Ocala Symphony Orchestra next March. The two winners will each receive an additional cash award of $1,800 during the March concert series.
