The Ocala Police Department responded to a local shopping plaza on Wednesday morning after receiving reports of a gas leak.
At around 9:15 a.m., a gas leak was reported at the Maricamp Square Plaza located at 3233 SE Maricamp Road, and OPD officers soon arrived on scene.
All businesses located within the plaza were evacuated as a safety precaution.
TECO Peoples Gas was notified of the gas leak, and workers quickly arrived on scene. The plaza was temporarily closed while TECO’s workers conducted repairs.
In an update on social media, the Ocala Police Department stated that the gas leak has been fixed and the plaza is now open.
