Ocala to host public meetings on city’s future

The City of Ocala will host three public meetings over the next month to solicit input from the community about the future of the city.

All three meetings will provide the same information, with each session covering general topics for inclusion in the City of Ocala’s Vision 2050 plan.

According to the city, the Vision 2050 plan serves as a roadmap for the future and is built upon community consensus to promote continued support and implementation of projects over time. Once established, the vision document will act as the basis for updating the comprehensive plan.

The public meeting days and times are as follows:

  • Thursday, February 15, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place (1821 NW 21st Street in Ocala).
  • Thursday, February 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Fort King National Historic Landmark (3925 E Fort King Street in Ocala).
  • Saturday, March 2, from noon to 2 p.m. at Citizens’ Circle (151 SE Osceola Avenue in Ocala).

For those who are unable to attend any of the above meetings in person, a survey will be available online beginning on Thursday, February 15, and it will remain open for feedback until Friday, April 5.
