To the Editor:

I currently live in southeast Ocala, and I’ve complained about the conditions of SE Maricamp Road. Thankfully, they are now being repaved, starting in the Shores, which, by the way, wasn’t really that bad. However, between baseline Road and 25th, the conditions are terrible, and I thought it should have been resurfaced way before the Shores area. But apparently they know more than I do.

To have lanes blocked off during peak travel times is ridiculous, and one can only hope an emergency vehicle is not needed. I have talked to business owners that have had their driveways blocked off and lost business because of it.

So, my question is: why can’t the roadwork be done at night or early in the morning? There is virtually no traffic at 3 a.m. It would be safer and the job would be completed in half the time.
