Sheila Elizabeth Alford, of Ocala, Florida passed away on April 3, 2024, in Ocala Florida.
Sheila was born in Brewton, Alabama to Maurice and Mammie Gay on December 28, 1946, and grew up in Berrydale, FL, with her three sisters and one brother. She worked as a nurse, medical office manager, and later launched a medical dictation service until her retirement in 2001.
In 2002 she married Sanford Alford and the couple lived a happy life enjoying spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed tending to her flower beds, antiquing, and was an avid collector of vintage furniture. dining wear, and figurines. Shelia was a caretaker at heart, always cooking meals and checking on neighbors.
She will be remembered by loved ones for her positivity, warmth, easy laugh, and lightheartedness.
Sheila is survived by her husband, Sandy Alford, and her children, Mike Green (Pam), Alan Green (Traci), Amie Shields (Michael), and Carmen Zinn (Jesse), along with four grandchildren, Brooke, Robin, Ivy, and Opal, and three great-grandchildren.
