The much-anticipated festival took place this past weekend, on June 7 and 8, at Majestic Oaks Ocala (17500 N US Hwy 441, Reddick). Hours before taking the stage on Friday, Kid Rock posted a statement across social media advising fans to plan accordingly for the weather.

“For all of you 30,000 patriots headed to Rock The Country in Ocala, FL this weekend, yes, there is gonna be some Florida heat to deal with,” said the singer, who was Friday night’s headliner. “I am not one to tell people what to do, but what I do when I am drinking beers on a hot day is the 3/1 rule: For every 3 beers I drink, I slam one water.”

The artist went on to advise concertgoers to “look out for one another.”

“You people attending are what really separates this festival from all the rest,” said the singer.

Jason Aldean, who headlined Saturday’s festivities, said Ocala still held a “special place” in his heart in a post on social media.

“I cut my teeth playin the Stillwater’s Saloon in Ocala back in the mid/late 90s. That town will always hold a special place in my heart. It was really cool to come back all these years later and you guys show up for us like you did,” said Aldean, referring to the “30,000 strong” that attended the event.
