Local officials cut the ribbon this week on a new 150,000-square-foot neighborhood hospital with 10 emergency rooms, 10 inpatient rooms, 4 surgical operating rooms, and a medical imaging center.
The University of Florida Health Ocala Neighborhood Hospital hosted the ceremony this week at its new facility, which is situated at 2100 NW 35th Avenue Road.
The three-story hospital was first announced in 2022. In addition to the emergency and inpatient rooms, the facility also features seven emergency examination rooms, an outpatient center for lab draws, a UF Health Rehab Clinic, an anesthesia pre-operative center, and a physician office space.
According to hospital officials, the facility will also include room for future expansion.
The surgery center at the new hospital will feature 12 pre- and post-operative beds. The imaging center will feature two general X-ray rooms, two computerized tomography (CT) rooms, an ultrasound room, and one magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite.
The facility is hosting an open house on Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will include tours of the facility, food, games, face painting, and giveaways. The event is open to the public and registration is not required.
